How safe are my funds and securities with my stockbroker?

Holdings

Q: Where are my securities held, and what happens if stockbroker defaults?

A: In Tradejini, your securities are securely held electronically with CDSL  – Tradejini is a depository participant of CDSL. If, in a rare scenario, Tradejini defaults, your holdings remain safe with the depository. You can smoothly transfer them to another stockbroker of your choice. How to transfer shares from other brokers to Tradejini?

Funds:

Q: How are my funds protected with Tradejini, and what if the stockbroker defaults?

A: Your funds are received by brokers only in designated Upstream accounts and same is completely up streamed to the Clearing Corporation on daily basis as mandated by SEBI, ensuring that no client funds lie with the Stock broker on EOD basis. This ensures that client funds are always available and secured by the clearing corporation on a daily basis.   In the unlikely event of Tradejini facing financial challenges, the Investors funds are always available at the Clearing corporation and in addition an Investors Protection Fund (IPF) guarantees the safety of your funds up to ₹25 lakh in case of any shortfall in the amount with the clearing corporation.
