Why do exchanges send a weekly SMS and email regarding funds and securities balances?

As per the SEBI circular, it is mandatory for exchanges to send weekly SMS and email notifications to clients. This is done to prevent any misappropriation of funds. The fund balance mentioned in these notifications is based on the date specified in the message and not the date you receive it. Additionally, it covers the balance across various segments and is not specific to a single exchange.
