What does T1 above the shares I've bought in Tradejini CubePlus mean ?

Shares bought but not yet settled by the exchange will appear as T1 in CubePlus. This is given as an alert for the client that if he sells the T1 shares it may go for auction if exchange fails to settle the earlier bought shares.

What does settlement cycle mean?
