How do I transfer my mutual fund investments from another platform to CubePlus?
Transferring your mutual fund holdings to CubePlus is possible, but the process depends on how your existing units are held. Follow the steps below based on the mode of holding:
1. Before You Begin
Before initiating the transfer, make sure to cancel any active SIPs in the mutual fund scheme on your current platform. Once the units are successfully transferred to CubePlus, you can set up a new SIP through CubePlus.
2. If Your Mutual Fund Units Are Held in Demat Mode
You will need to transfer the units using a Delivery Instruction Slip (DIS):
1. Obtain the DIS from the Depository Participant (DP) where your current demat account is held.
2. Fill in the DIS with the number of units you wish to transfer and the Tradejini Demat Account Number.
3. To find your Tradejini demat account number:
a. Log in to CubePlus
b. Locate your User ID and click on the Profile Section
c. Scroll down to Depository Section
Once the DIS is filled, submit it to your current DP. The units will then be transferred to your demat account linked to CubePlus.
3. If Your Mutual Fund Units Are Held in Physical Mode (Statement of Account)
In this case, the units must be destatementized before they can be moved to CubePlus. For the full process on "What is the procedure to destatementize your mutual funds?", click here.
4. If the Units Are Under Lock-In (e.g., ELSS Schemes)
Mutual funds under a lock-in period can only be transferred through a closure-cum-transfer process and only to another demat account held by the same investor.
a. If the ELSS units are still within the lock-in period, use the closure-cum-transfer process.
b. If the units are partially or fully out of lock-in, the free units can be transferred like any other demat holding.
Summary
1. Cancel SIPs before initiating the transfer.
2. Use a DIS for demat-to-demat transfers.
3. Destatementize units if held in physical (SOA) mode.
4. ELSS funds under lock-in can be moved only to another demat account in your name through closure-cum-transfer.
Once transferred, all your holdings will reflect on CubePlus, and you can resume SIPs or manage your investments seamlessly from one platform.
